After an extensive search for the perfect home style and layout, Lynn decided on a Summertown Metals stick-built home. Originally, she considered constructing a log cabin and even traveled to Tennessee to watch one being built. However, after careful consideration, she pivoted to her current plan.
Breaking ground in May 2023, the project required a year of preparation, including clearing land and extending power and water 400 feet from the road. The finished home spans 2,400+ square feet, and includes a bonus room above the master suite with a private entrance from the garage.
"It took us a full year just to get our land ready before we could start construction, but we wanted to do it right," Lynn shared. "We went back and forth on the design, even considering a log cabin, but in the end, this layout was the best fit for us."
Lynn took her time researching insulation providers, gathering quotes from multiple companies in the area. Initially, she planned to use traditional insulation throughout the home, but reconsidered after comparing costs. She explained:
"We actually started with the idea of using regular insulation, but once we did the math, spray foam made so much more sense. Epic’s pricing was competitive, but what really stood out was the customer service. Justin answered every question I had—sometimes even before I asked it!"

Initially, she believed additional insulation would be needed in the ceilings, but after consulting with Justin, she learned her home was already fully sealed and protected—saving her time and money.
"At first, I thought we needed even more insulation in the ceilings, but Justin explained how the spray foam created a complete envelope around the home," Lynn said. "I really appreciated that he took the time to walk me through it—it saved us money and unnecessary work."
Today, Lynn feels confident she made the right insulation choice. She is already anticipating significant energy savings on heating and cooling costs, thanks to the efficiency of spray foam insulation. She has already noticed that when temperatures outside reach 75 degrees or more, it remains 62 degrees in the house!
